The microbiological quality of water intended for human consumption can constitute a health hazard if it is not adequately monitored. The natural turbidity of spring waters, although it improves through the normal process of filtration, sedimentation and coagulation, still requires interventions to be brought to optimal quality levels, i.e. to levels lower than 1NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Units). Consumption of water with a high degree of turbidity can constitute a health risk, because: sediments or even the presence of inorganic particulate material can stimulate bacterial growth. The major problem linked to turbidity is its effect on disinfection, as, at high levels, it protects microorganisms from the action of disinfectants and increases chlorine demand.

The MiDoMET NTU1 and MiDoMET systems are only ideal for use in: sewage systems, water systems, water stations, surface water, agriculture, industry and other fields.
MiDoMET NTU1, is the simplest remote turbidity sensing system. Turbidity measurement occurs using NIR diffused light at 90° with a nephelometric principle (compliant with ISO 7027 and EN 27027 standards) and with automatic temperature compensation. The steel sensor is immersed directly in the tank and is connected to the MiDoMet Special, the datalogger that allows the remote storage and sending of the detected data, as well as timely reporting in the event of an alarm when the thresholds are exceeded. The MidoMET NTU1 device can also be used to detect consumption or tank levels through the use of additional digital and analogue inputs. In this version the device can also be self-powered, via a replaceable battery pack, whose autonomy can reach up to 5 years.
MiDoMET NTU2, is the remote turbidity detection system complete with a self-cleaning system and control unit, which allows simple calibration of the sensor. The system is combined with the MiDoMet Special, the datalogger that allows the remote storage and sending of the detected data, as well as timely reporting in the event of an alarm when the thresholds are exceeded. The device can also be used to detect consumption or levels in the tank through the use of additional digital and analogue inputs.
Turbidity sensor
The sensor, based on the infrared absorption diffused light method, guarantees continuous and accurate detection of turbidity.
Based on ISO7027, dual dispersion infrared light technology will not be affected by chroma for turbidity value measurement. It is equipped with a self-cleaning function. Ensures data stability and performance reliability.
Turbidity controller/transmitter
The transmitter is used to display the data measured by the sensor for its calibration and for configuring the sensor and cleaning function. The controller is equipped with a relay output and a 4-20mA output which is connected to the analogue input of the MiDoMet Special, in order to store, monitor watch levels, and send data remotely via GPRS/LTE/NBIoT.
