Project description:

The project in question involves an architecture based on LoRaWan technology.

The final nodes are represented by the pulse emitters connected to the LoraWan 868Mhz radio transmitter: The MiDoMet Radio Pulse Transmitter, and The MiDoMet Radio Pulse Transmitter sends the meter consumption at a LoRa/LTE area gateway concentrator. The installation of approximately 5 concentrators is planned in the area of the municipality covered by the project. The concentrators send the reading data via LTE modem interface to the Cloud management system. The remote management system, provided as a SaaS service (software as a service) in cloud computing, serves for the presentation, analysis and use of reading data, their archiving, automatic calculation of the water balance and timely reporting in case of alarms. The platform will be customized to the needs of Lario Holding S.p.A. The proposed network is bi-directional, each node sends information to the server, and is able to receive responses.

Characteristics and technical parameters of the network:

At each point to be monitored (attached georeferenced map) there is a counter on which the
compatible add-on is inserted, connected to the MiDoMet Radio Pulse Transmitter radio module.
< br>The pulse emitters and the MiDoMet Transmitter will be supplied already wired, to simplify installation operations.

The MiDoMet Radio Pulse Transmitter - Cod.Prod. MD.TRA.5.7.1 (manual attached - All.MIDO.A) is a Plug&Play radio module with double digital input that can be connected to any sensor with digital output (relay, reed, hall effect, or optoelectronic) . Thanks to a LoRa® 868 Mhz Wireless RF Transceivers module, it transmits at a distance exceeding several km (which varies based on the obstacles it encounters).

The radio part of the MiDoMet Radio Pulse Transmitter is modular, and for this project, a transceiver with an 868Mhz frequency is integrated.

For any subsequent installations with different needs, a LoRa module of different frequency can be integrated.
A version with the new NB-IoT module is also available, which can be installed when commercial offers and connectivity coverage are guaranteed by mobile operators. The cloud platform will be responsible for integrating data from heterogeneous systems.

Summary of the main characteristics of the MiDoMet Radio Pulse Transmitter: Wireless LoRaWan, 868 Mhz radio module, IP68 protection, self-powered (over 12 years of autonomy), dimensions 36*45*70mm, antenna external 868Mhz SMA connection.
