Water saving translates first of all into significant savings on your bills, but not only does water conservation help prevent pollution caused by losses resulting from overloading of local sewage systems.

Here are some simple rules to save:

1) Check that all the taps and pipes in your home do not have losses. A small drop coming out of a washer can waste 20 liters of water a day.

2) Periodically check that there are no leaks in the toilet. A leak of a toilet flush costs from 7lt to 10lt per hour of waste, i.e. approximately 87m3 more per year in consumption which will cost you an extra €100 on your bill.

3) To check that there are no leaks in the house, just read the water meter for example before going to sleep in the evening and check in the morning if it shows the same reading. Or you can use our MiDoMet remote reading systems which warn you if there are hidden leaks in your home.

4) The shower consumes less than the bath and avoid high temperatures and don't leave the tap open while you soap yourself. In fact, on average, each shower consumes 5 to 10 liters of water per minute.

5) Replace old generation toilets with "low flow" or "differentiated flow" ones which use approximately 2 liters of water for each flush with much greater savings.

6) Always turn off the water while brushing your teeth.

7) When you shave, fill the sink with a couple of cm of water and rinse the razor in it.

8) To save energy and water at home, always use dishwasher and washing machine only at full load, during the evening hours, on holidays, at low temperatures and opt for washing “eco” or quick.

10) When washing vegetables,fill a bowl or sink with water and a little bicarbonate and do not use running water. In conclusion, a leak generates waste of resources, pollutes, and above all costs more on your bill. Be careful or use the intelligent MiDoMet systems.
